Dreams often function as mediators between the unconscious — where unfathomable mysteries seem to cook and coagulate — and consciousness. If we pay attention to the messages in dreams, we may give birth to unexpected and exciting ideas. Dreams can bring valuable insights as well. Sometimes, dreams seem to access the future, as in Abraham Lincoln’s dream of his death just before he was assassinated.We shall discuss both actual and legendary dreams that have given rise to significant changes, both personal and social.
