Reminder: Nick Redfern lecture on UFO CONTACTEES – Saturday, August 21st

Nick Redfern Lecture on Research into UFO – CONTACTEES Saturday, August 21st @ 7pm Austin Center for Spiritual Living 4804 Grover Ave. Austin, TX 78756 Free Event / Donations Welcome / Raffle Prizes Contactees: A History of Alien-Human Interaction We are not alone…and Nick Redfern can prove it. Contactees contains the fascinating stories of the select group of people chosen by visitors to Earth to spread their message. Are aliens really among us? Don’t be too quick to dismiss their claims. Truman Bethurum was divorced by his wife because she believed he was having close encounters of a very personal kind with a beautiful extraterrestrial “space captain” named Aura Rhanes. Is he nuts? Prescient? An omen? A band of eerily human-looking, blond-haired aliens–later known as the Space-Brothers–informed other contactees that they were concerned by our warlike ways and wished … Read entire article »

Military Indoctrination of Youth in America

Air Force Recruitment Bus for Elementary School Kids Last week I got quite a shock on my way out from my day-job’s parking garage. What should be staring straight at me but a big new bright blue U.S. Air Force recruitment bus. It was parked right alongside Waterloo Park on Trinity Street where many visiting tour buses park temporarily while their occupants generally tour the Capitol complex which is two blocks west of (behind) this camera shot. But I’m not used to seeing military recruitment buses among the tour-busloads of folks who are usually either an elderly lot or bunch of school kids (often dressed up in matching colored shirts to more easily spot them in a crowd). So I snap a picture of the bus and proceed on my … Read entire article »

Lunch Menu Review – Serranos at Symphony Square – Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas

Mind Meld With Miles Over Migas! Still no migas… but this time our review is at least TexMex. Lunch Menu Review – Serranos at Symphony Square – Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas Another extremely hot day downtown at lunch time this Summer. A few days into this Summer heat wave and I found myself eating at an outside venue that’s always been of interest to me. I’d run an errand in the car yet ended up dining at a locale nearby to where I work; definitely within walking distance lying at 1111 Red River Street. I found a nice shady spot in one of the two small parking lots across Red River from the restaurant. Despite having beaten the crowds and having the whole interior to myself I chose to brave the incredible heat and … Read entire article »

Dr. Katherine Albrecht Speaks on Microchips at Brave New Books

Every Tuesday over at Anomaly Television is “Science & Technology Tuesday” when I and my friend Floyd Anderson post the latest videos related to those topics. Well last Monday night Brave New Bookstore featured an important speaker (whose radio show I sometimes carry at Anomaly Radio). Dr. Katherine Albrecht is the leading expert in America fighting for your and my freedom from rampant surveillance society, prison planet, techno tracking and taxation. She was just here in Central Texas to fight the new MANDATORY pet-chipping happening just down the road in San Marcos. I went to the bookstore event hoping to catch her lecture, show my support and maybe even finally meet her face to face. However, the event was so successful that I took one look around, saw no place … Read entire article »

The Citizine Community Political Forum was a Success

Monday night was the most fun I’ve had since I saw Scott Horton debate and defeat war-monger Harvey Kushner.   Scott Horton, at my request, moderated a community political forum organized by good friend Thom White (publisher of CitizineMag) and featuring some of my favorite local political friends from several different political parties.   It was GREAT! Of course it helps that it was in a cool Austin setting; a place called Spiderhouse just off the main UT Drag. Access to beer during political events like this is a necessity.   Anyway … the reviews are in … below are some of the local media’s take on the event. Video to follow soon. … Read entire article »

“Cryptozoology” photo exhibit at St.Edward’s University

Loren Coleman posted an item over at Cryptomundo today about an art exhibit at St. Edward’s Universtity, here in Austin, TX. Jeff Wilson’s Cryptozoology photo exhibit, running through November 5 at the St. Edward’s University Fine Arts Gallery (map), is described as photography that “subtly insinuate(s) the existence of the mythological, mysterious and unexplained in everyday life .” While, as Loren notes, the description of cryptozoology used in the full text of the promo material is flawed, I’ll reserve my judgement until after I’ve had a chance to look at the exhibit. I was also intrigued by the fact that the next exhibit, opening after Cryptozoology, is the Alchemy. (Granted this is art from David Mack‘s Marvel icons book Kabuki, and not related in any way to historical alchemists or alchemy, but the Fortean in me couldn’t … Read entire article »
